Hello Diet, It's Me Kyla!

I was sitting here looking through some of my pictures on Facebook, and they are kind of in time order from high school, first year at college, first year back up until now. OH MY GOSH-- I know that I have gained weight (my current pant size is proof of that) but looking at these pictures, I can just see myself e-x-p-a-n-d-i-n-g. Ladies, I need to get back in the gym asap. I always relied on basketball to keep me in shape and fitting into my clothes, but that's gone and done and now I need to rely in myself. I've loved reading all the blogs and keeping up with everyone's progress, and I just really feel that it's time for me to start my own! I thought I would put up some pictures, so I can just pop over here and remind myself WHY I need to get back in shape, when I want to blog instead of walking the dogs, or eat fast food instead of making something healthy.

Let's see...

9th grade

10th grade prom... tiny!

11th grade... I was trying to hide my "belly". I've always had the mind-set of "I'm fat", but looking back now...ahhh, I had no idea! ha

12th grade colors day (oh basketball practices, how i miss you!)

just getting to college... still in lookin' good

Not quite half-way through the year... I can see my face starting to fill out

Yikes! The end of the year... this is where my high school pants didn't quite fit anymore, and you can see I was trying to hide my belly with my books. No quotation marks needed on belly this time.

About 2 years from graduation

I feel like I look like a completely different person...

Nooot cute!

This is from last summer. Love the bangs, the hamhock arms- not so much!

It was waaay easier to pick out the ones from high school :) I alwaaaays try to only post pictures where I don't look as big, or I have my head turned at the right angle, so it was kind of hard to pick out ones that show me what I hate looking at.

So there I have it... it's time for a change!

Off to make a game plan :) You ladies have any advice for someone who's been out of the exercising game for the last 4 years?

I wish I had advice for you, because I'm going through the same thing! I used to dance in high school and got a lot of exercise from that. Now I basically don't do ANYTHING exercise-related. I keep telling myself I'm going to start before I have to break out my bathing suit, but I'm afraid it's getting later and later and I haven't done anything yet! You have inspired me to start, though. Good luck to you :-)

I'm going through the same thing, but, I think the fact that you have noticed you want to make a change is the first step! I have always had issues with my weight and self esteem and one thing my mom said that actually made a difference in what I ate was, "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" It kept me from eating so much junk!! You'll get through it! Good luck!!

Kyla, you already know how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing your high school pictures. Just beautiful. But, you ARE still that beautiful girl!! When I was about 21 or 22, I started my journey with weights and fell in LOVE! You have a great fitness background... you'll figure it out. (Kayla has all the tools you need as well!!)

Taking your life back - by working towards fitness and health - is VERY empowering. You'll be amazed at the person you become.

You can ALWAYS ask me any questions... I'll help any way I can. I'm going to be sending Kayla some new workouts soon!!

God I know this all to well, when I was 15 I was aneroxic and weighed little over 7st, over the years my weight has crept on I am now well lets say over double that, I myself do not excercise and am lazy so between you and a talk with the hubby last night as of next week I am starting a new life, I hope you get to do the same thing and your mind can be strong enough, I know mine will struggle. If you ever want to chat feel free kara@innocentcharms.co.uk

I still think you look GREAT! I would start off slow--don't just ditch all the bad food and hit the gym--you still need the soda/candy/chocolate--whatever is your greatest weakness. If you swear it all off, you'll end up eating more than you do now. Spring is almost here..is there a sport you could get into? Swimming is really great and doesn't "feel" like exercise. Maybe look into joining an exercise class where you can meet more people with the same struggles! Good luck!!

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my blog. It seems like you are also in need of a BIP (body improvement plan). I am on one...and have recruited a workout partner and convinced her to get on her own BIP. =)
You can do it. We can do it together!
