Weekends:)

25- From Friday: The boys are so happy about their new roommate! Even though they have been indeterminately kicked out...one for shedding, one for chewing.. oh well, they can just meet in the living room for their love fest!

26-(Saturday) Was a good day!! I'm sad that this is the only picture I took... Sam looking at the birds! Sam & Chuy are always chasing them out of the yard, "stalking" them while they sit on the picnic table and watching them up in the trees! ha!
I did have to work, but got called off my night shift so Chancey and I decided to go swimming at moms! FUN and the water was soo nice (I was afraid it would be freezing!) Then we came home, got changed and went over to Julie's for a BBQ! Love her:)
I have yet to take my picture for today...hmmm & its already 8! I need something exciting to happen! ha

Picture Day Catch Up (3-7)

Laptop is back in the game, thanks to my sweet boyfriend who went a bought me a new cord! Now for the picture roundup (I hope I don't have to do this again, I like looking @ them seperately!)
Day Seven- It's a Monday, and I love Mondays because thats when Eric is off :) Mostly we just sit around (I spy an Xbox controller in somebody's hand) and hang out- but it's my favorite night of the week and I get to spend it with my 3 favorite people!
Day 6- I have two pictures for this day! Oops. At the lot next door to our house is a nature place- with plants and trails and stuff. I saw this for the first time when I was taking pictures over there, it has a "doorway" from tree branches and when you walk under there is a sign that says "Fairyville." Then there all these little minituare houses and villages- its so precious!

Day 5- Saturday....I had to work all day and when I was getting ready, thought the dogs were being a little too quiet. They've pulled a few Houdini tricks lately and keep getting out of the backyard so I decided to go check on them. LUCKILY, my camera was sitting on the dining room table and I caught them just hanging out on the picnic table!! I love this picture- best friends!!

Day 4- This is one of about 40 pictures I tried to take with Chuy on our walk... and sadly, this is the best one! Ha!

Day 3- My Sam:) He's so photogenic and so sweet... I love those wrinkles by his mouth, I'm imagining they are from smiling so much.

Day One

The dogs got new toys and instead of ripping through his in .5 seconds, sweet Sam laid down by it and just relaxed. Oh, be still my heart! ha!

In our otherwise very exciting lives... we went to the Walker Park for the first time to walk around. Went down a trail to the little creek... Sam & I had fun walking around in the water but poor ol Chuy wasn't having it. After dodging all the little baseball players and sniffing every tree in the park we all loaded up and went on a ride to see Eric at work then to KFC to get some grilled chicken and green beans. Now we're just waiting for Glee and The Hills to come on so our Tuesday night can be complete! Yes, so exciting.

Snow Day!

(image from here)
This is the updated snow totals as of 5pm here...They said on Tuesday that " this storm could be one of the worst in a decade. A storm you will likely remember for a long time to come, but not quite as destructive in northwest Arkansas as the Ice Storm of 2009."
So far..I haven't heard of anyone losing electricity and I don't know how icy the roads are but my manager from Red Lobster called and said they were closing the restaurant at 4pm. So... we'll see what it does tonight!

But as for today, we had a great snow day! We slept in late, played outside with the dogs, took a walk in the woods behind our house, ate potato soup and read! And watched the snow... it's been coming down ALL day!
Behind our house

This was just stuck in the ground by this tree and we found it while walking!

Somebody hates the snow!

And this guy here... LOVES it! He scoops it up with his nose and catches it and then runs laps and laps as fast as he can around the yard. So funny!

Eric and the boys... nearly impossible to have all three looking at the same time!

Now we're waiting for 1 vs. 100 (trivia game) to come on the Xbox... We. are. hilarious. to watch when we play this.

Scallywags.

If I didn't have these dogs...

There wouldn't be muddy footprints in the bathtub. I wouldn't have hair on every single piece of furniture and clothing I own. I wouldn't have to fight for covers. or leg room in the bed. or space on the couch. I wouldn't be sweeping every day. There would be no chasing of anyone, trying to pry my underwear from their mouth as we race across the house. I wouldn't have a $139 vet bill for an ear infection. No picking up poop. I wouldn't have a wet nose trying to pry itself under my hand as I type. I wouldn't have to do a magic trick every time i come home: trying to unlock the door, holding mail/purse/groceries/phone, scramble in and do a head count to make sure nobodys escaped. There wouldn't be two beady little eyes watching every little morsel I put in my mouth. No standing in between dogs b/c one doesn't like the other one to sneeze. And he can't help it. I wouldn't worry about people coming over. Wouldn't hear clickety-clackety trailing behind me EVERYWHERE I go...It would be quiet.
But lonely.

I ♥ Faces- Pets

On my break from work, I spend the whole time reading my camera's manual and on Google. I love taking pictures (I'm the family paparazzi) and I've been looking at so many fun pictures (Hello Courtney) lately, that I'm really eager to LEARN about some of the technical stuff to take better pictures :) I've been driving the boys crazy all afternoon...
And then I saw this on The Watermelon Tree:

The theme this week is pets, and while I'm not entering (or have any good enough to enter) I thought I would put some from today on mine!

Peeking through Chuy's legs :)

Digging

I like to think he was trying to play hide and seek under the bed. The reality is he was probably just playing hide. forget the seek part.
I love this picture, look at those ears. I just need to edit those eyes... crrreepy

And last, the dead carcass of Chuy's favorite toy.. they last all of about two minutes around here, but he still loves to chew on the lifeless body. Who am I to judge?!

I realize that everybody doesn't love looking at picture after picture of my dogs, but they are the most willing participant at my house (mostly because they just lay around and act bored), and duh, they're the only kids I have!

Tomorrow I have the WHOLE day off-- I think we are taking the dogs to the park on Eric's break, I might do some laundry, and go shopping for a new bed frame... Super exciting.. ha!

Dear Dog...

Dear Dog #2,

I know that you defintely run this household, but I was hoping to lay down some rules and post some observations. Perhaps this will be just the trick we need to live together like peanut butter and jelly. You can be the peanut butter.

1. It's MY bed. Don't try to trick me by telling me you need to go outside, wait for me to get up and open the back door, and then ruuunnnn back and get in my spot as fast as you can.

2. Eat your food. Your food is delicious. You don't have to wait and see what your brother is going to eat, because it's the same thing. I promise.

3. My bras and panties do not qualify as chew toys. You have a whole basket of such things, and I will gladly re-show you where they are, if you have forgotten.

4. I know you think you're helping me answer the door when someone knocks, but from now on- just sit back, relax, and let me get it.

5. Putting your leash in your mouth and doing ballerina twirls does not make me walk faster. It's actually quite counter-productive because then I have to concentrate on not falling over you, not getting little brother's leash tangled in yours, and getting yours out of your mouth. See? It's like a production stand-still.

6. This goes with number two but let me just say it again, you're not starving. The way you sit as close as you can to me and watch every bite of food I take, with a trembling expression of frantic pleading, is really annoying.

7. The point of the fetch game is for me to throw it, then you go get it and bring it back. It's silly for me to throw it, go get it, and then you chase me around trying to take it. Not how it works.

8. I don't mind you sleeping with me, you're like my own little private heater that I don't have to share with the boyfriend. I don't even mind you sharing my pillow. But I was thinking that maybe you don't have to lay with your arms and legs sticking straight out and on my back, half pushing me off the bed whenever you start stretching. Just something to think about.

9.You don't have to follow me into every room I go in. I promise there is not secret door to exit and I'm not in the bathroom sneaking food or having fun without you. I promise I’ll come right back out and will return to the room you're in eventually. Really, I’ll only be a minute. I won’t leave you…

10. I just can't stress this one enough: Chuy is not a squeaky toy. Dragging him across the hardwood floors by his throat or ears is not okay. The sounds he is making may sound like one of your squeaky animals, but it's not.

Well, I hope this clears a few things up. You really are the best puppy ever, and no matter how many times a day I threaten, I wouldn't really take you to the pound or throw you out the car window.

Love always,
Me.

Dog Tag

If you know me well, you know how important my "fur-babies" are to me, and the thought of them getting lost or stolen absolutely breaks my heart. The other day two things happened: 1. Sam ran out the front door {I wasn't home, of course, "mom" would never let that happen! ha!} and brian (our house guest from the ice storm) ended up chasing him all around the block before he finally caught up with him. And 2. I noticed Chuy's tag was all bitten up and my phone number was so scratched you could barely see it.

I usually just buy tags at PetCo and they are like 8-10 dollars. So I started perusing Ebay and found a company out of Texas who made them for ONE DOLLAR!! And the shipping was only 1.89! So of course, I ordered two of them and when the dogs and I went on our walk today and checked the mail- they had come in. Yay, so exciting!!

We also have our dogs microchipped, so even if they wanted to run away to move in with their hot poodle girlfriends, it's not happening :)

It's a Beautiful Day

...and we are fully utilizing it! Sunny and pretty- around 65 degrees, we decided to go to the park in between jobs. Apparently, everyone else in Fayetteville had the exact same idea because it took us forever to park and there were people EVERYWHERE!!

We cut through the grass to get away from all the people on the trail, until Sam could wind down a little, and passed this lady sitting a blanket meditating. Well, I guess she was meditating-- she's defintely in the pose, and was talking out loud to herself with her eyes closed. Hmmm...

We walked around the loop a couple of times, Sam and Chuy met a few other dogs, and then we were all pooped so we came back home and played in the back yard for a while. There is this one spot in the yard facing the street that both of the dogs stick their head out of {i always think it's their way of saying "Hello World" haha..but I'm also a dork!} and I finally got some cute pictures of it :)

Sambo Jackson

I love the natural height difference, so that they both look out and Chuy is just standing under Sam's body.

Now tell me I don't have the cutest children in the world!!

So we had a great time and now they are both behind me, passed out on the couch :) And I need to get ready for work, and cross my fingers that tomorrow is just as nice!

hello new week

Sam, Chuy, and I are starting off our new week with a relaxing morning off :) Lounged around, ate some mini sausage biscuits, and dug a hole to China. ALL IN ONE MORNING!!

And here is the culprit licking all the dirt off his nose. His next move from here was a mad dash for the bed, so he could get all the dirt and who knows what else all over my clean sheets... but alas, denied. I've become increasingly smarter about shutting all the bedroom doors!!

After that, we {well I, but they were in bed under the covers} watched Jon and Kate Plus 8 and Trading Spouses. Cleaned up a little because Monday night is poker night for Eric and they usually play here. Did some laundry. And then layed in bed some more, wishing it wasn't so cold!!

And yesterday, Chuy had his second play date with his new girlfriend Lily. I got him all spiffed up in his houndstooth jacket and we borrowed Sam's leather leash and went over to her house! He stayed for about 5 hours, while I was at work, and they said he had so much fun once he stopped sitting by the door waiting for me to come back!!

Miss Lily

and Mr. Chewbacca Michael Simpson-Graves, all dressed up :)

Wellll, it seems that I only have 2 more hours before I go to work so I better go get my work clothes in the dryer and try to squeeze in one more t.v. show!!
