Snow Day!

This is the updated snow totals as of 5pm here...They said on Tuesday that " this storm could be one of the worst in a decade. A storm you will likely remember for a long time to come, but not quite as destructive in northwest Arkansas as the Ice Storm of 2009."
So far..I haven't heard of anyone losing electricity and I don't know how icy the roads are but my manager from Red Lobster called and said they were closing the restaurant at 4pm. So... we'll see what it does tonight!

But as for today, we had a great snow day! We slept in late, played outside with the dogs, took a walk in the woods behind our house, ate potato soup and read! And watched the snow... it's been coming down ALL day!

And this guy here... LOVES it! He scoops it up with his nose and catches it and then runs laps and laps as fast as he can around the yard. So funny!

Eric and the boys... nearly impossible to have all three looking at the same time!

Now we're waiting for 1 vs. 100 (trivia game) to come on the Xbox... We. are. hilarious. to watch when we play this.

♥ What about pets? Yes. A dachshund (Chewbacca Micheal) and a Blue Heeler Mix (Samuel Jackson) who we LOVE like our children!
♥ Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple? Money... we wish there was more of it!

♥ Are you from the same home town? Nope, he's from Cali and I'm from Arkansas.

♥ Who has the worst temper? Me. Eric is so laid back, he hardly ever gets angry.

♥ Who does the cooking? Eric, for sure. I've been trying to be more domestic... I like looking up stuff to make, but I never quite make it there!
♥ Who is the neat-freak? Neither. I wish one of us could claim this, so our house wouldn't get so messy!

♥ Who hogs the bed? We both say the other. But the dogs probably win.

On another note: When I got to job #2 this morning, my sister tells me that I'm in trouble... Whaaat? It's too early for this! Well, my friends, here's how it all went down. I work at a place where there is a buffet, and they have had problems with people trying to take stuff home or share one buffet so the managers put up a sign saying that "this is stealing... blah blah". Fine, except they spelled words wrong, had stuff marked out with a Sharpie, and some was typed and some hand-written. Coustemers instead of customers? Takeing instead of taking? Come on, I know not everyone was the spelling bee champion like me [ha!] but this makes us look pretty silly! So last Wednesday, I went into the office, typed up a new one, and replaced the old one. I'm not actually supposed to get on the computer, but it was an emergency! I couldn't work another shift staring at all those words spelled wrong and chicken scratch handwriting. AHHH! Trouble? They should thank me, not write me up!!!

Off to clean my house [seriously, it's messy!], walk the dogs, wait for the trashy reality tv to commence (Tool Academy, anyone?) and enjoy the rest of my night off!!

Madden=Marriage?

So I have a funny story, but first I need to give you all a little backstory so you can fully understand...

- Two nights ago, Eric had poker night and they moved the poker table into the dining room since it's so cold in the garage. I had my butt firmly planted on the couch {blogging!} and on the TV was a paused Madden game.

-Brandon is Eric's best friend, and Becca is Brandon's wife. All three of them work together at a restaurant.

- I've been LUSTING after a ring for a whiiiile :)

Okay, so Eric and I are eating at Denny's and he tells me that today one of the guys from poker asked him if I was playing Madden the other night. Eric replies, "No, if she could kick my butt in Madden, I would have married her already!" {This is where my eyes get big! Ha!} Becca looks over and giggles and says Why do you think I played poker with you guys...just long enough to get a ring! Eric said poor Brandon just shook his head.

silly time

every once in a while-- i make eric take "a" picture with me... it's for memories!!! it usually ends up turning into a mini marathon session because i have to like how i look in them {so vain}! ha! anyways here are some from last night:

Monday Night Poker

Eric has moved poker night out of the "man-cave" {read:garage} into the dining room, this week. They were complaining of the cold- so now I have 5 smelly boys breathing up my air! And, my life threatened just trying to get some pictures for my blog. :) There is a core group of them who play every week- and then they throw in a few other guys every once in a while. But tonight, it's just the same guys I see every week- and no one brought snacks :(
I parked it here on the couch when I got home from work and haven't moved since. I've just been reading reading the new martha magazine and playing Bingo online. I'm not very productive unless I have a plan or to-do list :)

Internet, at last!!!

Oh my goodness- the ice storm this week was horrible. Eric and I were so lucky because we only lost power for a few hours out of the whole week-- and some of my friends are STILL out of power.

This is all that's left of the little tree right in front of our house... I emailed my landlord in Maine pictures, and he said, "the little guy didn't stand a chance". Haha, that's right!

And this is my neighbor's fence- you can see it looking out of our extra bedroom window. Whenever he opened his back door, parts of the tree would go inside.

And... our hammock in the backyard. Eric was OBSESSED with it the whole time. I must have about 500 pictures of it on my camera. He's so cute :)

This is my official ice storm outfit. Eric's beanie, Arkansas hoodie, cupcake pajama bottoms, and my boots. Someone needs to feature me on their fashion blog. Seriously.

so the french toast i was talking about? mmmm...

and while i was on a roll, i thought i would make the dogs some cookies!
1cup milk
1cup peanut butter
2cups flour
1tbsp baking powder
and then i drizzled honey on them before i baked {350 for 15 min}



they look like that because some are turned upside down, and the honey i put on them before baking- but, hey, my dogs weren't complaining!!


i wasn't fast enough to catch sam!

off to clean the kitchen, shower, movie, then bed. starting tomorrow i work doubles for the next two days and then fri. morning and all day sat and sun. ahhhH!!!
