Steps To a Cleaner House (Maybe)

If you've ever been to my house, you know I'm messy. Well- I've decided to make an effort to change my ways... so I googled some tips, haha..

Try starting with these tips: (from zenhabits.net)

hang your clothes up or put them in hamper immediately

keep your sink clean and shiny (wash dishes immediately, clean sink after)

pick up before you go to bed and before you leave the house

empty your trash daily

15 minutes decluttering sessions each day (see How to Declutter)

clean your shower, toilet and bathroom sink after each use (only takes a couple minutes!) (i don't know about this one... :))

have a place for everything, and put everything in its place immediately

make your bed each morning

keep flat surfaces (counters, tables, desks) clear of clutter

put away your stuff as soon as you get home

so, i'll start (tomorrow :)) and we'll see how it goes. maybe you'll be eating off my floors soon enough...?

I love my dogs like you love your children :)

So, i went back to target today to exchange sam's pumpkin t-shirt (it was too small) and they didn't have any more!!! :(

But I did find the doggie "clearance aisle" and got them matching collars and leashes for $2.48 each! and i got chuy 2 new shirts and them a "Kool Dogz" toy- that you put water and squeaky toys in it and freeze it- then they lick and play with it until they melt it enough to get the toys out. It has a pitchfork base that you can put into the grass so they can play with it and stay cool when outside.. it was only $5, so what the heck!

But anyways, here are some pictures that I'm finally uploading...

In his new "ABC" hoodie.

Who needs children with dogs this cute!

I just wish he would have sat still... these could have been so cute!

Our family watch dogs:

And Sam and his dad- hanging out on the hammock. So cute!

Summer Re-cap

It's starting to get cooler... so I thought I would post some pictures from summer!

Eric playing poker (win me some money!!)
Bath time, Sambo!

Me and my sister after Becca's purse party...

Me, Eric, and Sam in Nevada for Sadie's graduation :)

Kappy and me hanging out down at my mom's store

BBQ at our house.. Sam and Chuy act like we never feed them!!
(I know, it's so messy on the porch!!)

My mom on Mother's Day with the lap quilt that I made for her.
(BY HAND!!!)

The boys taking a nap...
they are so sweet to each other, when they think no one is looking :)

I'm so excited about the cool weather coming. Summer was fun, but I'm so over all the sweating and having to wear my hair up every day.. haha
and I went shopping today- I got Chuy and Sam matching pumpkin t-shirts at Target (only 4.99- you can't beat that!), a new welcome mat that has a skull and crossbones and says "Keep Out", some Halloween garland for the front door (I wanted to put it out there today, but Eric vetoed that idea and said it was too early!), some new flats (note to self: Do NOT leave these shoes on the floor) and a really cute dress from Penny's. It was originally $80.00 but was on sale for $3.97!! Holy crap :)

Graduation Station

nos·tal·gia
1.a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former time in one's life, to one's home or homeland, or to one's family and friends; a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time

if i had stayed in school- this would be my senior year. i would be graduating and moving on to the real world. i would have stayed and joined the sorority that came the year after i quit. i should be having the time of my life, instead of looking at my friend's lives- feeling jealous and sad- knowing that i should be there with them.

but then again, i guess i wouldn't have met eric. i wouldn't have my two puppies. and i wouldn't live in this lovely little house with a backyard and fireplace.

i miss that time of my life... and i'm so proud of my friends who stuck with it and are going into their senior year.

Dear Future Offspring...

Even though I am nowhere near ready for you- I, from time to time, like to look up little outfits that I'm sure you would be rockin'.
I imagine that you would have to wear something "punkish"- what with dad sporting a mohawk and tattoos all over.

But then on days with just mom, maybe we could go with cute and whimisical?

But no matter what, future baby, I PROMISE to never ever dress you in Winnie-the-Pooh.

Here we go...

Halloween is fast approaching, and this year I've decided to get more in to the swing of things... so how to start..hmmm. I went to amazon.com and decided Sam and Chuy needed Halloween costumes. Forget the fact that I'll probably be working that night and have nowhere to take them to show off these costumes, I ordered them anyways. :)

Chuy, I decided, would be a cow. Now since he is a dachshund- I did put the hot dog costume (with ketchup, not mustard!) into my "cart" but decided against as it just seemed to obvious. And Sam...

Well, he was going to be Spiderman. Spider-dog, Spider-dog, does whatever a Spider-dog does. If only I had even LOOKED at sizing charts...
I got Chuy a medium.. which makes him look like a 100 pound waif in her 200 pound boyfriend's t-shirt.. the legs of the cow hit the floor and looks pretty ridiculous. Sam got a large (well, he is quite the fatty mcpatty so...) and it's so big that you can't even see his paws coming out of the sleeves.
I decided to forge ahead and take pictures anyway. It was a disaster!! I had to seperate them, pin them down, get the ill-fitted costumes on and then chase them around trying to snap one decent picture. (Which I will post later, when I find the cord to my camera :))
I'm not going to let this costume fiasco dampen my Halloween spirit- but I will be taking those costumes to my mom's consignment store and hopefully getting some money from them... so I can buy Christmas outfits (it's coming up quick!!!)
